    New Messages in Google email

    New Nessages In Google Email is computer lesson plan part 3 in the 4 part group of learning Google email. Here the plan is to write, save draft, spell check and send new messages in Google Email.

    If you don’t have a Google Email Account start with part 1.

    Otherwise, we’re off! You can do it!!

     Double click the pictures to see them full size.

     

    1. To write a new message in Google email, in the top left corner, under the Gmail logo, click Compose Mail.

    Put address in last to avoid accidentally sending an unfinished message.

    2. Write your message in the large box.

    3. To check spelling, click Check Spelling, on the right side, above the big box where you type your message.

    A ‘Spell check‘ marks any word it does not recognize. To see Google spell check’s suggestions, click once on the hightlighted word.

    Click on the word you want to take the place of the underlined word.

    If the word you want is not there…the original word was not spelled close enough for the Google spell check to recognize what you meant. You may need to try your original word again to try to spell it closer to being correct, so Google spell check recognizes it.

    If you want Google to leave your word as is…click Ignore.

    4. IF you are not ready to send the message and decide you want to save it…click Save Now, located above the To: line

    It will save a changable copy of your email in your Google email drafts folder, for you to access later.

     

    5. When you are ready to change, add to, and send this saved draft…click Drafts at the left, under the Gmail logo.

     

    gdraftsfoldertorn New Messages in Google emailDouble click the message in the list of saved drafts. Make any changes necessary, add attachments to your Google email if you wish, then send as you would any new message.

     

    6. To send your new message:

    On the subject line type the main idea of your message…3-5 words.

    On the To:   line fill in the address of the person you want to send the message to. (Email addresses will include an @ sign) To send this exact message to more than one person, put a ; (semi-colon) between the addresses on the To: line.
